This single malt was distilled in April 2012 at the Caol Ila Distillery, located on the Isle of Islay. Aged for 11 years, it was finished in a single Côte Rôtie Red Wine barrel. The combination of smoky whisky and fruity red wine resulted in notes of cigar smoke, dried red fruits, freshly laid tar, boiled sweets, sea salt and cracked black pepper.
It was bottled by The Whisky Cellar for their Private Cellars Selection, at natural cask strength, without chill filtration or artificial colouring.
